Slow Cooker Texas Beans Recipe

Our favorite meal as a family is a super easy mince dish made using a slow cooker, or crock pot.
Ingredients
For 8 servings:
- 500g mince
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 x 440g tin baked beans
- 1 x 440g tin kidney beans
- 1 x 440g tin butter beans
- 1 Cup BBQ or Hickory sauce
- 1 Cup tomato sauce
- 3 T white vinegar
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- Optional Extras: 250g chopped bacon and grated or mixed veges (we often grate or chop zuchinni and put it in as well!)
Method
1. Place all ingredients into a crock pot and cook on low all day.
2. Make sure you stir regularly for the first few hours to break up the mince.
For a quick version, pre-cook the mince and then put all ingredients into the crock put for at least 2 hours. This recipe can be used as a base with pasta or on its own with pita bread, and can be frozen and reheated. To make it extra filling, add another tin of beans.
